Moral
Moral development at Marsden Infant and Nursery School is about giving children opportunities across our early years and Key Stage 1 curriculum to explore and embed our core values: Belong, Nurture, Inspire, and Succeed.
We guide our youngest learners to understand fundamental moral concepts through age-appropriate choices, helping them distinguish right from wrong within a safe, caring school ethos. To show consideration and kindness, and to respond appropriately to the needs, feelings and opinions of others.
- Belonging & Equality: We teach children to celebrate and embrace differences, understanding their personal rights and shared responsibilities as part of our class, our school, and the wider Marsden community.
- Nurturing Kindness: Through everyday classroom interactions, assemblies, and SCARF PSHE sessions, we encourage children to show consideration, use kind words, and respond with empathy to the feelings and opinions of others.
- Understanding Consequences: Aligned with our School Behaviour Policy, we help children see how their actions impact those around them, reinforcing positive choices through adult role-modelling and reflective discussion.
- British Values & The Rule of Law: From the Nursery onwards, we introduce the concept of rules and justice through democratic experiences like our Pupil Parliament, building a foundational respect for civil rules and the values of modern Britain.
