School Performance
At the end of Key Stage 1 children are assessed in the core subjects against required National Curriculum standards. The assessments are formed partly by teacher assessment and partly by national testing, commonly referred to as SATs.
Comparison between test results from one school to another, and one year group to the next should be interpreted with care as different cohorts have different strengths and weakenesses.
The criteria for achieving the standardised score can also change annually.
'The most able pupils make rapid progress because they are challenged to reach standards above those expected of their age.' Ofsted 2015
